The pleading look in the eyes of your victim as you continue to hold him under water and he gasps for breath only to receive choking water into his dying lungs... A part of me died as I lay in the water this morning realising that the happiness I seek is a fools dream, and the happiness I have is but an illusion. I am the only actor in my play, and I am he who writes the script. I have complete control over the words, but regardless of what I write, I still remain the sole protagonist except for my many alter egos, one of which lives no more.

Great work and a good reminder of how lucky I am, having come close to the real thing some 29 years ago. vote

Paul - you've done an amazing job of portraying fear, sadness, helplessness. It's not easy to do in a photograph and when it succeeds, it makes some people uncomfortable. bravo!

GUEST: Thanks for your comment, and I understand that some people aren't comfortable with some forms of art. I feel anything that can get a reaction or a feeling from an individual means that I've done something successfully. I'm sorry that with you that reaction hurts, and I appreciate your kind comment regarding the rest of my work. I certainly am not going down a "path", so the chances of more images of me drowning are very unlikely. However, I do feel that this particular image as a one time post is powerful in its own way, and worthy of my posting it.

When you've lost people close to you by accidents such as you depict, you see images like this as heartless and cruel. Nothing good to say about it. You are too good of a photographer to go down this path. Show the best in life.
