Ya. I think its a 54. The bumper and grill are shaped like a 54 and the 3100 series is manufactured in 54 and the California plate says 54TRUK :o)

Judging by the hood side badges, it's a 54. The 55 first series trucks said "Chevrolet" on the hood side.

This is a 1954 or it could be a 1955 first series ½ ton 3100 which was manufactured through Jan, Feb & March on sale until March 25, 1955. It is a 5 window 3100. http://www.pbase.com/image/16230922
