the monster arrived

The new monitor has arrived. It is barely in the door and waiting for someone (who?) to wrestle it to the basement and hoist it onto the desk. This has been a day filled with technology challenges. I was trying to print on some new paper in the Epson 4000. I was doing this to help my husband who had to take a print to a class he is taking. The output was dreadful. What should have been orange was yellow. Naturally, I thought it must be that I had never printed on this paper and that I did not have the downloaded profile working properly. Finally, I posted to a list and a kind person suggested doing a nozzle check. Well DUH!!! that was the problem. Clogged nozzles equal ugly output. So we got the print made. Then I did get to print two of my images on the new paper (Hahmenmule William Turner). It is really rather lovely watercolor like paper and we were getting nice output by the end.

But now comes the next challenge. Getting the new monitor going and sending the old one back. BUT, of course today the old one has not gone all fuzzy. It is pretty clear or I would not be doing prints and images for pbase. But, alas I guess I have to now go with the new one. More of this saga tomorrow. Oh, and I need to be shopping for Thanksgiving food. Family is arriving tomorrow and Friday. Whew!!!

I wish you better luck with this one :)
These can be really bulky indeed, that is why the flat screens became so popular, they don't just look good, they are a lot less heavier.
I hope the Thanksgiving shopping went smoother ;)

I hope you get it back in working order real soon!

The monitor woke up fuzzy wuzzy AGAIN this morning. So, I definitely will be switching out. Hopefully I will be able to read the screen clearly soon.--Rene

That is a huge monitor. Look at it this way. The old one might be working now but something was wrong with it and odds are it would've gone down again.

Yeah, it's fun getting new equipment, but it's no fun getting new equipment up and running and loaded and all that. Good luck!

Good grief, is the monster the monitor or the day?

Technology is a great blessing and curse all at the same time :) Love the Hahmenmule Fine Art Papers!
