Alexei, origin of color is explained in my long comment below.

Really, really nice silouette. I wonder where the background color comes from

Beautiful shot, amazing color, Olaf. One of my favorites. - CameraShy09

Dear Olaf, Yup I think this is much better as the Light Mast is your main subject in this pic. My guess is that all the masts aren't 100% vertical to begin with and hence the difficulty in mainting all of them vertical. Can imagine the glare in the viewfinder from the sun and have to say this is a great shot irrespective.

Cheers, Vikas.

Nice job, I like that you can also just make out what looks like the word 'Restaurant' below the light. Chris

Olaf,
Great contrasty effect. VERY nice!

Thank you Vikas. The background color is the result of an extremely high Kelvin whitebalance setting. Regarding the rotation, if you looked at any other vertical in the shot it was indeed vertical - I don't know why the lightmast seemed to be tilted. To be honest, I'd already rotated this to the position you saw. When I took the photo, the sun was low and weak enough to look at with the naked eye, but once I looked through the viewfinder it was blinding me (tele-lens), so I had to just press the shutter quickly - only spending a split second on composing the shot in the viewfinder. Anyway, since the lightmast is the main subject I have now made that vertical, so now it is the other mast plus other vertical features that have become tilted, but I guess this is better.

Ed, thanks again then - nice to have a name with the comment!

Lovely shot, the b/g is super. Slight tilt to the light mast, easily corrected I think. Cheers, Vikas.

Nice capture, and the near-monochrome appearance is great!
