There are many favorities; however, the BRISTLECONE PINE captured my heart, and for many reasons. I grew up on the farmlands in rural North Carolina. I was always fascinated by the "inside" of trees. When my dad and brother chopped wood during the harsh winters, I would frequently count the "rings" inside the trees to determine their age.
