This Praying mantis looks like Mantis Religiosa ( European Mantis species) They are quite common in the United States. Color is usually green, sometimes ivory, red, tan.. A much more interesting mantis with MUCH more eye appeal is the U.S. Native COLOR CHANGING Praying Mantis. Colors are skyblue, skyblue/purple, pink/purple, Turquoise/Green and deep blue/turquoise. I bought a skyblue and a turquoise. They are about to post more at the site where I bought mine. If you want to see the pics they have there go tohttp://www.livemantis.com they are called livemantis.com

I found one of these today. I figured it was called an albino praying mantis so I looked it up online and found you! I kept him/her (tis a nymph right now) and named him/her Ghoul for his/her ghostly color. I love mantids!
