August 20: Shadowed Memories

Trout Creek Pass, CO

The big PaD tour of Colorado is over, leaving sweet memories and several hundred images yet to be processed. I only posted 3 or 4 shots in the trip gallery each day so as to not overwhelm you (or me). As time goes by during the rest of the summer I'll be adding to **my trip gallery.**

My plans now? I remain in Colorado for a few more days interrupted by a business trip to Minneapolis starting on Monday.

I extend a warm thank you to all of you who left so many kind comments and cheered us on. In many ways it felt like all of us were taking the big tour.

And finally, my hat off to Danny for the great Henderson Mine tour, to Breland and Gayle for their company to Mesa Verde, and especially to Di and Wynn who became great friends as we "shot" our way across the Western Slope!

I just can't find the words to express the way I'm feeling right now...sitting at home, missing you and Wynn and just wanting to be in my truck (Tiffany) heading to our next destination. Robin, I had so much fun, learned so much, and grew in ways I never imagined! How lucky was I to have the two of you to help me through all the crap (you know what I mean) these last several days? You'll never know how much you mean to me, Robin. I'll never forget your generousity, love, kindness, wisdom, humor, etc, etc (I could go on and on). I love you, Daddy!

This image brought tears to my eyes...I'll never forget the memories we forged!

As I write this, I find myself sitting at home, on my computer, back in the real world, almost as if time travel has propelled me to another location in space and time. If I didn't know that the memories were indeed real, it could be so easy to question whether it really happened or not.

But I know it did - this past 10 days was one of the unique experiences of my lifetime. I was so sad to see it come to a close, and to bid adieu to my 2 newest, and dare I say it: lifelong friends. I will never forget you two, and I will think of you constantly. I'm going to have a hard time putting into words what I got out of this trip, but it was a helluva lot more than photos - it was truly an experience at all levels.

I thank you for your friendship, your company, your insight, your help with photoshop, your sense of humor and your love of life. I came away a better person, and I owe you two so much for that.

Forever your friend,
Wynn (the bandito!!!!!!)
