Ana, I love this photo. Although I'm not sure why this one in particular. All the nice comments everyone made explain why it is so interesting, but to me it just touche my soul with a variety of emotions when I saw it. To all of this I say THANK YOU!

lindo Ana! realmente o seu toque todo especial que resulta em sua marca registrada é a controle absoluto da luz.. coisa de mestre. parabéns e meu voto.

Impressive portrait with great angle and composition. The light behind that traces the left side contours of the subject is captivating.
Gets my vote~

Well, yes, it's very hard to do both at the same time, but it's always worth to try, even if it ends in faillure...
The idea behind the photo, is explained in the reply to the e-mail you've sent me with your version, I don't know if you read it yet, but maybe then you'll understand it better. It was an event that happened that gave me this idea, because we don't all see in the same way, for some there is only darkness and to be able to see that person would have to "trace the contours"...

Yes, I can see it now, Ana. I still feel the form -- the dark, transitory nature of an old 19th century faded tintype -- diminishes the power of character in this image, although it does express the idea of someone caught between the forces of darkness and light. It really comes down to what you are trying to express here, the character of the subject herself, or her predicament? It is very difficult, if not impossible, to do both at the same time.
