In the gutter*

The roof

Looks like the gutter needs repainting. The tin of paint says Sky Blue on the lid, i think not.

It is amazing how an interesting photographic composition can be made from a trivial everyday object like this. -Gerald

That's not green Paul, it's turquoise. It's a mixture of green & blue I think. So you are safe as far as "on topic" is concerned, IMO of course. Heck, it would still be on topic if the lower part was painted black, you are such a cool guy. But hey, don't count on me in voting when you shoot off topic photos!

It seems to be almost perfectly level at the lip and just a tad tipsy where the top edge meets the sky. Another 0.5 degrees counter clockwise and I reckon it should be perfect.

Funny optical illusion , sometimes there are those pics that no matter how level they actually are, they seem kinda tipsy. I guess it's because there are two or more straight, almost parallel lines going across.

Paul, Nice to get the minds out of these once in awhile and photograph them against a crisp blue sky....Yvonne

Aam, i did a touch of saturation of the whole image as when i looked up and saw the blue of the sky and the blue of the gutter i thought it would start the challenge off. When i dowloaded the photos they (i) hadn't captured the late afternoon deep blue so i messed about with saturation but it's made the blue gutter a bit green but it'll do for a first entry.

Did you saturate the sky a little, Paul. When I first saw it it was a bit lighter, but I'm looking at it on a different PC. In any case, Like the simplicity and the abstract look of it. Very nice.

Oh, you do need glasses Paul :)

Thanks techo, i think leveling it is an excellent idea. Is this level now? Changing the orientation with my photo editor i found hard and thought this was level but now i look at it again i don't think it is. Perhaps i need glasses?

I can see all those little hints of blue fighting their way through. This shot has a abstract/graphic thing going on. What would you think of rotating it a bit counter-clockwise? so it's level.

Thanks Rod,
I can't clean the gutters because of the ban on using water for us drought stricken Sydneysiders. Can't be arsed anyway. I should take the can of paint back, it clearly says Sky Blue on the lid and when i last painted the gutters 5 or 6 years ago it looked sky blue. Mind you it was the middle of the bush fire season and the sky was grey and full of ashes, perhaps that's what they meant? It's rusting away too, perhaps it would be easier to move?

If you cleaned the gutters then you might see Blue on Blue yer boofhead. Apart from that the bleeding shot is only awesome mate.
