Photo a Day, Day 121...We picked 6-7 quarts (enough to fill the bowl shown 6-7 times) of these berries this evening... Wineberries were introduced to the area from Asia and are similar to raspberries except they are smaller, juicier, have softer seeds, and their bramble bushes have softer thorns - they actually look fuzzy with thousands of thin thorns all up and down the stems... hmmm perhaps a PAD subject for tomorrow! They also do not last as long as raspberries. They pretty much have to be used within 24 hrs of picking so we have managed to make 2 batches of jam so far tonight and thinking of making a pie with the rest...
This shot is a crop of the shot I was planning to post which is shown to the right. It was tough trying to decide which to post here for my PAD but I figured I had already done a shot with the full bowl of cherries.. beside this shows off how sharp they look with the 3s exposure - I'm lucky my tripod cooperated! It has been slipping frequently as it isn't really rated for the weight of my new camera :( Need to get a better one...
