The Esplanade, Edinburgh

The seating is getting built for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo next month on the Esplanade in front of Edinburgh Castle. This is the view from outside the Castle.

The Castle will be a busy place just now as RK Rowling does the first reading from the new Harry Potter book - "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince". If they'd got the seating in earlier i'm sure it could have been filled with wee kids listening in - no problems.

The spire here is the tallest point in Edinburgh - the former Highland Tolbooth, now The Hub, Edinburgh's Festival Centre.

Not too happy how any of my pics today turned out... But it was certainly entertaining to take photographs of scaffolding and tubing as everyone thinks you're a grade A nutter... as they snap away at the castle! :)

Love this shot Lee. It has so much to offer. Wouldn't miss the E.T. that is on tv each year. We had the Australian tour last year...only the second time in history it had been out of Scotland. I had a cousin play in the Rats of Tobruk Pipe Band that was formed here in Australia & invited to play for the 50th Anniversary of WW11.

A slaughter of lines and geometric wonder.. then this simple.. very simple spire with a cross shines through.. mayhem.. the light?
Some people might just get a message from this... really excellent
