Thanks for the comment Grant. I was going for more of an illustration type thing here - unfinished edges and the more painterly look. I was thinking along the look of an illustration in a children's book, that would sit on a white page with the edges bleeding in. A blur would have kept the edges distinct, screaming 'here's the edges of the picture everyone, the picture is over here and the words are over there!'. LOL! Weren't the old Dick & Jane books more like this - not as saturated of course, but that was along the idea of it. So, the unsophisticated edges actually support the immaturity of the childlike quality and intent of the image. So, what you're complaining about is actually supporting the intent. :)

Now of course you can still hate it. But now maybe at least you understand that it was more intentnional, so you might be a bit more tolerant of it - not like it, but tolerate its purpose! LOL!

And of course, I DO appreciate your candor. Let me know if I helped my case at all! LOL!

Lonnit,

I know you aren't afraid of criticism so put on your helmet...

I (think I) understand why you irregularly erased the edges but I think it would have looked a little (lot) better if you used the Lens Blur in PS to simulate a decreased DoF. This looks like someone who just got PS and is trying out the tools.
