20050612 / The Fisherman's Wife

Marina State Beach, CA

Another Look

Her mind is far from game two of the NBA Finals, deep in the heart of
Texas. Immersed with zen-like, foggy morning fishing in the pounding beach
break of Marina State Beach, she hopes to be cooking up fresh halibut tonight
while the Piston are trying to reel in a victory over the Spurs to tie the
series and steal home court advantage.

Great low light picture ! Just a touch of light on her profile creating a somber and peaceful mood. Vote !

truly a wow, Chris.. the background water is superb.. but the detail in her weathered face with the low sun on it.. along with the ability to se that damn fishing line (which amazes me) is too perfect. (as is the comp)... one of your best..

Halibut, eh? Could I get an invite for dinner? :P
Love the fall of light on the face, hands and handle of the fishing rod,
with the drama of the crashing waves behind.

Great wave in the background, and superb lighting! :)

Very nice. Love the light on the face and hands. DOF leaves the background just enough blurred so that you know what it is but so it doesnt distract.

Another great fishing shot. I love the cool blended blur of the waves in the background and the slight glint of afternoon light on her face.

I love that darkness in this image. I think you captured a wonderful mood. I agree she is like me. She is oblivious of games that take place!

beautiful light, like the way the wave is crashing in the bg as well, one of my favourites this Chris!
