I travel from Jacksonville North to Fernandina Beach by way of a very scenic drive along A1A (US 105) through Talbot Island State Parks. Late one afternoon,I spotted this piece of driftwood. It had been bleached by the sun and smoothed by the tides and sand. The clear daylight provided a strong contrast with intriguing shadows on the sand.
