Northern Saw-whet Owl

Maple Canyon

My aunt Wanda and I were out on the search for some bears this evening.
We stopped at a tree that she had seen a grouse in a few days ago,
and as we were looking we spotted some owls. 5 of them.
But zero bears. This was better, I have seen bears before, not these.

I didn't have my tripod, or even my monopod. I did use Wandas walking stick and then a tree to help steady my shot. I did get a ton of blurry ones. I guess I will start packing my monopod. Thats why I bought it! :)

these appear to be fledglings, the adults have more white and brown bars on the front. I missed out on this trip. Jeff

Forgot your owl ID. Looks like a young Saw Whet Owl, but I'm no expert on these (being an easterner).
