The Agapanthus

Rancho Bernardo, Ca

Agapanthus ***Redux *** (White this time)

I’ve decided to limber up my Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS lens for the holiday weekend. I’ve been so happy with my Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L the past month that I’ve ignored the other end of focal length spectrum.

This was handheld, cropped, and sharpened, and a blue filter (80) in PS. These days I always start with a 16 bit raw image and do pre-processing of exposure, shadows etc. in the CS2 raw dialogue screen so virtually every image I post has been processed to some degree.

Here is a shot of some ***Jacaranda trees*** taken with the same lens. I would like your opinion if you think it is too busy.

I’ve been running so wild with my PS ‘fun’ shots I decided to show you that I can still take ‘real’ photographs.

Don't worry - we know you can take "real" photographs - I just admire your dedication to practicing the PS work at playtime. This must be a Cali flower - don't see them around here.

Nice shot! I like how angle of the stems and 2nd stem of flowers in the background. Very nice composition!

Shots like this with the tough exposure make me glad I've shot Raw. You did good Robin. They are a pretty flower. Do they smell good?

This one's gorgeous, I detected a hint of blue, but thought it was natural. Very nicely done.

You did a very nice job of this. Is this the agapanthus in your garden? Nice detail and DOF.

You nailed this one--not easy to do with white, especially a flower with so many components.
