- 1st May 2005 - Soprano Cornet

Paul plays the 'Sop' in the band. He's also just become band chairman, so we needed a PR shot. However I took it underneath a tent with a bright sky outside and didn't get it right.
So played PS a bit - gives me the PaD but not the stock PR shot - that'll be done next Sunday at The Groves in Chester. Bandstand by the river. We're there from 2pm :) B&W version below - suggested by Cliff. (cropped too).

Few more this weekend in the following galleries...

Finally never let a javelin thrower stand on your foot.... this is what they'll be wearing! As modelled by Helen at today's Northern Athletics League (she came 2nd in Javelin 'A' and 100m relay)

Suggestion from Cliff...

crop also works well to reduce the distraction of the colour

Great high-key effect. Would work well for promotional material but probably not for the standard PR shot! Like the cropped version.

I agree with Cliff. Looks great in b&w.

I like the black and white ... too much yellow in the face for me in the colour version, but I do like the yellow trim on his jacket! :)

It's basically a good shot. I'd try b/w.

What a shame, Ian. It was a good shot until the blowout to the left.

I can almost here it :)

colorized and done as a sketch might be fun.. it has nice lines to it, and the white background is perfect .. great detail too

I like the shot and I ususally don't suggest this - but I think it might be fun to try this in b&w. He is interesting and I like the way he concentrates - but the colour I find a bit distracting of that :o)
