Memorial Plaque "Dead Man's Penny"

This Memorial Plaque was referred to by the troops as the "Dead Man's Penny"
Note: The letters of the name on this plaque were improperly placed.
It should have read "Alexander De Nadaillac Salmon"

Hi
Im doing research for a college project on my G Grandfather Ernest A Woods. He was killed on the 8 / 6 /17 and belonged to the 12th East Surrey Regiment. Could anyone help. As it would be a great way and a fitting tribute to end with.
