In the center crops, by f11, Popeye has caught the speedster and actually slightly surpasses "the Man" both in sharpness and color saturation --- that is no small feat as an ultra-wide! El Hombre is actually better at f5.6 than f11 (at least in this test with these SPECIFIC conditions), which shows that diffraction is slightly setting in stopped down that far from its max aperture of f1.8.
At the corner edge crops, it's a slightly different story. Popeye struggles even at f11, while El Hombre stays the course and remains better at f5.6 than f11 (again, some diffraction setting in).
Is there ANY lens that will take down "THE MAN" (El Hombre) at 20mm/f5.6, from center to edge? He stands in his corner awaiting the next challenger...
