I really like the blue tones in this, and the composition. --Melanie

Olaf, this is a great image creatively and technically. A minor nit-pik, the small white specks draws the eye away from the big picture.

I re-shot this one to get the beam of water and change of background color more off center. Could have gone on for ever: "Oh, the water is nicer in that one, but dang the comb is soft in one end" - or - "the beam of water is not over the seam between the two background colors" - or - you get the point... I had to stop at some point... BTW, holding a showerhead and a comb at an angle by its corner, both in one hand, trying to make the water fall right on the comb - and far enough away so that the EF50/1.4 can focus on it, while looking through the viewfinder - is very tiresome! --Olaf.dk

Thanks guys! Mark I agree 100%. Did this in a rush, so didn't take as many different exposures as I would have liked to. If I find the time I might reshoot. In the mean time I've decided against the white frame. Also, there were some pretty bad jpg-posterizations in the background color. Got around that somewhat by adding some noise before saving as JPEG. --Olaf.dk

Very creative work, Olaf! I agree the cool blue tones are appealign and the water running through the comb was a very creative touch! My only suggestion (*) would be next time to try and run the water over the bottom or top "third" of the comb as I think that would place the water in a more visually appealing position in the image. That may sound rather silly (paying attention to where the water is flowing) but, I think you know what I'm trying to say. Again, nice work. Markjay

See Olaf - A comb is even more of a bore than a collandar but look what you've done with it! 3 very creative shots of an ordinary item. I particularly like this one with the cool blue tones and the nicely captured water. I knew I didn't need to worry ;) Cindy
