Walmart Sunset

This is a composite of two images from almost the same camera position. I needed to take two because inorder to get any exposure of the parking lot I had to blow out the sunset and inorder to get the colors of the sunset I had to make the parking lot VERY underexposed.

So I took two images. In photoshop I made a composite of the two images. In layer one I extracted the very underexposed parking lot, which saves the good sunset colors. In layer two I extracted the blow out sunset, which saves the so so exposed parking lot.

There was a "ridge line" on the horizon where data was removed from both layers horizon edge, during the extract. So I just took the parking lot layer and used the move tool and move the whole parking lot up to make it fit into the sunset. If you look close you can see lots of gaps on the horizon.

I have a gallery started about Wal-Mart parking lot views. You are welcome to send me your "views" of Wal-Mart and I will add it to my Wal-Mart gallery and link visitors to your pbase sites. Just email me if you want to play along. http://www.pbase.com/lundy/whats_your_view_of_walmart So far no one wants to play along yet but YOU could be the first to get the ball rolling, don't be shy! Oh for folks that live in places not over run with Wal-Mart you are welcome to send a photo of a view from a large one stop shopping (hardware, clothing, groceries, auto, electronics) company.
