It all started on a transpersonal training weekend I was on in 1999. In one of the explorations I encountered a force which I later wrote of in a poem starting 'In my lonely darkened room, I traced the walls again, this the home I've always known, my prison just the same'...

At the time of making this image I was still very much a beginner in Bryce and I had no access to Poser. I painstakingly separated a model of a young woman into it's component limbs and digits and posed her like this. It was a real labour of love!

The trouble was, this image did not even remotely portray some of the very real direness of that room and that girl's situation and she had a uniform age and expression that was frustrating. This girl felt a lot younger than the model suggested and I was very ambivalent. It wasn't long before I started learning Poser!
