Yesss...I am tickled and initially i had such a difficult time snapping their photos, as mentally, i was jumping down with excitement. The nest is literally about a foot and a half from my kitchen window..in a wind chime.
She is a genius Mama, Harriet, is. The patio roof is rainproof, and during all of the
rainstroms that fell on Los Angeles recently, she and her brood sailed the days and nights high and dry :)). They grow so much, almost before one's eyes. They had tiny
short beaks initially. Now they are growing much longer, plus they themselves are so large now that Mama does not sit on top of them any longer. She spends her down time elsewhere. She never neglects them, though. Initially, i thought it was so cute when the babies would aim their teensie bottoms up and shot these few drops of "clear water" out of the nest. Well, time, size and more protein in their diets now results in our
kitchen window looking like the rocks found under seagulls :)). We have to clean it several times a day. The "shoot" horizontally, and never miss ;D.. Oh, i shoot all of these hand held, with one foot in the sink and the other on the counter :))).. I love them so..
Hugs and many thinks for looking in :))
