You are back in your time tunnel mode here Zandra. The late 19th century architecture, black and white format, and distant bundled figure could represent an image made anywhere from the 1880s on. There is great tension here because the figure and the shaft of light on that street is squeezed horizontally into a tight vertical frame stressing the architecture instead of the movement. A framing mistake, or an deliberate attempt to create tension and cripple the sense of movement, making time stand even more still?
