- 24th Jan 2005 - Cumbrian Dawn

Drove North this morning... it takes 5 hours to get to Rosyth
from Chester you know :)
As I was passing through the Cumbrian hills the sun started
to radiate across the hilltops - time to dive off the
big blue road for a quick snap. But the sun was shy
only coming out in a fantastic starburst once I was
back on the motorway! Still I hope you get the mood - it
was very icy....

Bit further up the motorway had nice but expensive bacon butty at the services!

Busy day so it was 12 hours before the camera came out again.
Very still night so I tried some longer exposures looking
West down the Forth towards Crombie (MoD depot complete with
RN vessel) and the oil refinery at Grangemouth.

Yes I cropped this, and it was at 10* zoom...

Nikon Coolpix 8800
1/35s f/4.5 at 8.9mm iso50 full exif

Beautiful morning shot, but for some reason it looks like a lonely spot. Must be the colors, which are wonderful and subdued.

Beautiful shot, love the rolling hills and the silouhettes combined with that beautiful sky. Worth stopping and taking the shot. Your night shot is great also.
