5th Place (Joint) Leaning into the Wind by jono slack

My son said . . what's that got to do with contrasts?
Well, it's the contrast between the scruffy scarecrow, and nature in the form of the sky and land -
there's the contrast in the scarecrow itself, between the 'high tech' CD and the old fashioned construction and clothes.
In addition there is the contrast between the man-modified land, and the splendidly free and wild sky.

LOL - I can't describe this sort of thing - the point of a good photo (to me) is that it should be full of ambiguity and clarity, seriousness and humour, structure and chaos
. . . in this case I'm not sure how to put it into words Sorry!

This really is VERY dramatic. It seems almost a shame to use this much effect on a scarecrow hooded like a thug and armed with a dangerous CD! It's like Lawrence of Arabia......--Kim

This one is great!. I love the texture of the ground, contrasted with the sky. Very good... John

Yes, definitely your best scarecrow, aside from the lack of a dog in the photo. - Warren

Fabulous! for me this is the best of your scarecrow ones. Very dramatic, and the tonal range is mouthwatering...and I'm beginning to sound more and more like Pseuds' Corner form the old Private Eye.
Flick.
