202nd Military Police Company Official Record:

Unit assignments: Camp Blanding, Fla. from 5-15/42 to 6-21-42; Indiantown Gap, Pa. from 6-23-42 to 6-30-42; New York Point of Embarcation 6-30-42; England 7-12-42 to 10-22-42; North Africa, Mateur, Tunisia 11-8-42 to 7-8-43; Sicily 7-10-43 to 10-6-43; Marano, Italy 10-8-43 to 8-20-45, Austria 8-20-45

HISTORICAL DATA: The 202d Military Police Company is constituted, attached to the Third Army, and will be activated at Camp Blanding, Fla. at the earliest practical date. This unit will be organized in accordance with T/O 7-7 (11-1-40)- per AG 320.2 (3-17-42) MR-M-GM dated 3-23-42. Later amended to assign this unit to the II Army Corps – per AG 320.2 (3-31-42) MR-M-GM dated 4-3-42.

The 202d Military Police Company activated 5-14-42 – per MR card, same date, from Camp Blanding, Fla.

The 202d Military Police Company organized under T/O 19-37 (4-1-42) which supersedes T/O 7-7 (11-1-40) (See A? 221 (6-3-42) ?A-M-C dated 6-16-42.

The 202d Military Police Company will transfer to the New York P of E [Point of Embarkation] on shipment 6296 for subsequent shipment overseas for a permanent change of station. Upon arrival at overseas destination, this unit ? brought to T/O ? per AG 3705.(6-7-42)MS-E-M dated 6-11-42 as amended by AG370.5 (6-15-42)MS-GM-M dated 6-16-42.(C)

Unit arrived in England on 7-12-42 per radio, England dated 7-13-42 (S) 202d Military Police Company to be transferred from England to North Africa – per Troop List, AG 970.5/3, Hq, ETO dated 12-14-42 (S).

202d Military Police Company reported at Biserte and assigned to the Eastern Base Section – per Station List, Hq, ETO dated 8-15-43.

202d MP Co is reported assigned to Meteur, Tunisia N.A. – per Station List, Section III, Directory of the U.S. dated August 1943 AG? 322OE?-I (S)

I was with the 281st MP's stationed in Rome,Italy 1946. I graduated from the MTOUSA NCO school at the Army Rest Center. Most of the men were shipped back to the states or elsewhere, I ended up in Fort Meade 2nd Army Headquarters Co and later transferred to the 772 th MP'S prior to my Honorable discharge in 1949, Sure would be nice to hear from someone who was their with me. I was the 202 M.P. CO. company messenger in 1946 stationed in Viena,Austria-bilited in the Hotel Holler. We were the personal bodyguards for General Mark Clark and his family. Sure be nice to hear from someone who was there with me!
