Vestige of Summer

Remains of our trumpet vine.
How is the DOF on this shot? A little too shallow?
Does it look oversharpened?

Thanks for the feedback!

Answers: Fine, No and No. It's just right. And even though it doesn't present the traditional Christmas colors, it has a holiday feeling anyway. Very nice.

I really like the DOF on this one as well. Very defined and crisp. The blue as the background compliments the image well. Very nice.

Good contrast of colour between the background and the rich colours of the subject matter. Maybe you could have stopped down a tad to make everything in the foreground sharp and still have the blues OOF... Nice 'n' sharp too, what method are you using??

It looks great to me. Not oversharped and good detail.

Nice details and wonderful colour contrast.

In terms of DOF, I think I'd perfer to have the chains a little more in focus, but that would mean less blur for the background. In terms of sharpness I think you nailed it! Nothing wrong there. Nice colours!

I like the DOF. The muted blues make a perfect backdrop for the subject without stealing the focus.

It's a neat shot. My personal taste likes the DOF, but thinks that it's maybe a touch oversharpened for web. But that's just me. It is very lovely, though - great colors and comp.

Doesn't look too sharp and I like the Dof. Light might be a -little- blown on the left pod? Like the twininess (??) of this.

I'm a bad one to ask about shallow DOF as I think it's yummy as hell. But this doesn't look too shallow. in fact, it's sharp and detailed against the beautiful blue background.. well done

looks fine to me, the intertwining organic and manufactured both sharing a similar purpose, the vine used to be the chain of its day, the only think that could improve it for me is a tighter crop, possibly focusing on a specific part of the photo.

The blue in the background is exquisite; the focus excellent.

Looks very good, your eye goes to the vine and seed pod. Beautiful color also.
