A stairway to nowhere, interesting architecture. I imagine the architect goofing up on the drawing board, whoops wrong module. Great shot, good with clouds. A nice sunset or sunrise behind it would be even better.
The first lyrics that came to my mind before reading your caption were "...and she's buying a stairway to heaven." Looks like she may have run short of funding. :)
In response to your caption: I interpret that part of the lyrics as "live in the present - don't live in the hope or fear for what is awaiting - the present is all we REALLY have".
About the photograph itself: I like the simplicity and colors. I feel tempted to crop a bit on the left side - to the point where the sky section becomes a perfect square. That leaves the "stairs to nowhere" a little more off centre and yields a taller aspect ratio, which supports the upward motion of the stairs. As it is here, the stairs are not centered, but almost.
