Beggar in Tunnel

Here the black space behind the beggar represents his past, it had to be a dark past to get him to this point in his life. The ridges represent the bumpy road he must have traveled. The lights at the top of the tunnel represent guiding lights that could lead him to the mainstream. There are obstacles that he must face but there is stilll light at the end of the tunnel. The man walking represent what is "normal".

I see what you are trying to express here, Tami. I definitely think your symbolic trail of lights leading out of the tunnel suggests a person moving through darkness into the light. But I don't see or feel the bumpy road you mentioned because the ridges are invisible to me. And all of those cars and stuff at the end of the tunnel are distracting as well. if you had taken a vantage point a bit more to the left, and moved those cars out of the picture, it might have been a simpler, cleaner, more abstract and less literal image.

Keep on with the captions -- I think they are great idea. Not only will the give the viewer an idea of what you had in mind, but it should help you to better define your own intentions.

Thanks,

Phil
