Diné Tah Navajo Dancers

They explained that their singing and dancing were sacred, but that they had changed some the words to permit public displays without desecrating the religious traditions. Much like performances of Rachmaninoff's Liturgy of St. John of Chrysostom omit the words of consecration, thogh he set them for use in actual liturgy.
