View to the southeast from the 73rd floor observation deck of the Bank of America Tower (BOAT)
The I-5 and I-90 freeways envelop the International District in the foreground. Lake Washington is in the middle left. The 14400 ft Mt. Rainier is just above the distant horizon. BOAT was originally called the Columbia Seafirst Center, after the street it is on and the Seafirst Bank, which merged with B of A. It is said that there are more lawyers working here than the entire country of Japan. Compared to the admission price of $11-13 per person for the Space Needle, or $6 at the Smith Tower, we paid a bargain $3 per person group rate. The higher view is clearly better. You can look down at the Space Needle ![]() |
