Aug 20: Sheltering

Cornwall

(Linda's birthday)

Linda and Rosie sheltering from the rain in the engine house at Jope's shaft, South Caradon. The mine here closed in 1884, but the hillsides are still littered with the remains of the 19th century mine workings.

One of your best, David. You've captured such a mood here. First of all, it looks like a photo from the 1940's-50's . the tones are dark and rich. One can feel the wind as it blows through that arch onto Linda's upturned face. The detail in the stone, in her clothing, along with the light make this a superb image. I can't even describe how it makes me feel.
But when a photo makes one feel.... how cool is that?

When Linda was taking shelter from the rain, I was playing IN the rain like a little kid. Great shot by the way.

Very ncie iamge, David ... I love the B/W and her look ... her body language suggests a little impatience ... and anticipation. Very nice capture!

Love the tones and composition. The space around her and Rosie is lovely -- expresses an isolation.

Nice... good shadows. of course. You're nothing if you're not good shadows! I like her expression, too.

Hang in there, try to keep dry!
