ASU Research Park Lightning : Week 9

ASU Resarch Pak, Tempe, AZ

I am sticking with the lightning theme because that is what I have been shooting recently. This is from an industrial research park not far from where I live and the lightning was producing all kinds of different colors. The night, in general, was a bit disappointing because there did not seem to be any single large super-cell producing predictable lightning. There seemed to be a collection of smaller cells that produced lots of lightning but very sporadically from all directions. But I was able to get this shot that I liked. I brought the levels on the reflection up by about 1.5 stops to help make the lake stand out a bit better.

Note that I have updated this from my previous post. The original shot had a serious perspective problem that was caused by me pointing the camera up high to get more sky. I used PanoTools to correct this.

Could you share how this image was taken. Seems you caught all the light off of the lake very well. Is this one, two or three shots taken and used PS layers to bring it all together.

I do all of my printing on a LightJet 5000 and charge$25 ft^2 + SH for a print. This works out to about $66 + SH for a 16"X24" print.

All of the images taken in 2004 are taken with an 8MP imager and will enlarge very well. The pano is a 16MP image and is compose of 5 frames.
