Serrated
Day 104

A morning of heavy mist and dew.
Puts a grin on my face even though I know I'm going to end up with soggy socks!
~-~-~-~-~-~
I must say that I usually try and post the original shot when going for a natural, everyday look (effects are different),
but I'm not above tweaking the contrast and brightness when necessary.
This one took over and above the amount of contrast I usually allow myself, but for some reason it just came off the camera rather drab; maybe it was the mist and shadows?
The adjustment level on this is obnoxious. But I'll get over it.

Just for kicks, here's the original (cringe): http://www.pbase.com/image/32752731
Do you think I overdid it? I couldn't really find a happy medium on this one.

...and here are some (!) alternates:

Absolutly fantastic! I think that the PS work you did, made a much more enjoyable photo, that is truly the beauty of PS to improve the cameras eye to that of the photographer!

Oh, this is wonderful! I love dew drops, and this is a fantastic capture. I am not sure why you're feeling guilt about tweaking the image - that's the beauty of digital afterall. The processing is well done, and not intrusive at all.

I don't think it's overdone at all. And I think you did a good job cropping as well. I can sure see why you didn't mind getting your knees wet. Beautiful.

Jude, it took me all night with the thread and little beads, tying these droplets on. Didn't think I'd get it finished in time for morning -- especially when I dropped the bag holding the beads! And Jeanne, never assume that I don't leave a trail of destruction in my wake! It was an "Oops, oh crud. Did I do that?" type of morning. Typical.

This is excellent!

This is madness!! it's SOOO very cool, GREAT eye! Also impressive that you didn't bump into it and knock all the little droplets off! That would be what I do!
Guest 19-Aug-2004 04:26
