Giraffa camelopardalis
This is possibly a Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi because it has far less jagged-edged blothces than the Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi. It also doesn't have the liver-red color of the the Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata. Maybe I'm still off and it may be yet another type. This specimen surely has prominent ossicorns, the bud-like horns on top of the head.
Often the prey of lions, leopards, and hyenas, this poor creature is likely being stalked by the other two animals in the distance. With a sighting scope (or something with a better zoom than this Digital Elph), we may have been able to identify them. Though appearing cruel to us, this is but an example of the beauty of the natural food chain. Anyway, "Jimmy" (name changed to protect confidentiality) likes to watch the chase while lying in his crib.
