Today was butterfly day.
First I saw a Painted Lady, then was tricked into coming out by a Monarch floating by, enticing me toward the back of the yard.
So I went.
And there was another Painted Lady, and then a Tiger Swallowtail, and then, to my delight, a Black Swallowtail, all of them living in the trees and shadows.
I ventured closer, whereupon I was lured into the undergrowth by nearly a dozen cabbage butterflies, beating upon me with their wings and I barely escaped... What?
Oh.
Did I mention I have a very active imagination?
When all is said and done, the butterflies were real today, but this was the only thing that would sit still for me.
