June 23rd - Shut Up!

I read something today that has me concerned.
Here it is.
As some of you may know, I work in broadcasting.
Some in my industry have recently overstepped the bounds of decency.
The mood in my country isn't particularly tolerant right now.
And it's an election year.

So I'm speaking up. My phrase for today is "Monkey Shit!"

I wish that I could take credit for that - making that connection to Red Rose, but no. Perhaps on some intuitive level... Hmmmm...

This reminds me so much of the cover of McCartney's Red Rose Speedway, it isn't even funny. Did you have it in mind at all?

I just keeps getting worse ... Sometimes I just want to cry ... I was one of those pinko-america-hating-dirty-hippies that used to march for civil rights and the end of the Viet Nam war. I was shot at, mugged, arrested several times and eventually had to go underground. It does not seem to have done any good.

Say it in French then you'll really be in trouble! :-)
The man they can't gag!

Did you just say, "Monkey Shit!" ???
Uh, that'll be a quarter of a million dollars, please. You can make that check payable to me...

WTF. I mean, really. First off, what got the ball (sorry) rolling...I've seen hundreds of men who should probably not take their shirts off in public, just as a matter of my personal opinion. I actually think the Janet 'accident' should have moved the dialogue in the opposite direction -- is it really still taboo (illegal?) and indecent for one gender to expose their torso, and there to be no regulation whatsoever on the other? (Nothing good or evil, only thinking makes it so...) When "America" gets over its snickering, third grade mentality ("She said... boobie !")

I'm not a Howard Stern fan, but I get a terrible itch when one vocal minority (rarely in the mindset of expanding personal rights -- rather into curtailing them) gets Congress by the cojones and they go running for their 'Aye!' buttons or whatever.

Maybe in the interim (and hopefully it is only an interim -- I'm not so sure) there could at least be an alternate swear word system; words made to stand in for the real ones that sound indecent, but aren't on the "List", for instance "dinglebang" -- surely that wouldn't offend anyone?

Sorry this is so long; it's hard not to rant, sometimes...

I totally agree. And great image. Things are NOT good regarding many of our rights!

luckily this only passes 2 prongs of the 3 prong FCC indecency test :-)

Sorry I didn't get my comments up right away. They're up now.

I have a 13 year old daughter, and I keep plenty of duct tape at hand! LOL So, just what did you say to your wife?? Funny shot!
