Real Pimps

These guys are actual pimps that live in the Chicago area. They are very well known.
Whenever I show someone the picture they know their names.
They were shooting an Ice Cube video in the downtown area spring/summer of '03.

These kind of guys are all over America. They don't desrve a pot to piss in. They put on the charm and turn aout young girls all the time. When one os used up they use another. The girls end up doing the time. One girl is worth $200,000. per yr. They belong in prison. Apic with them playin' housewife in prison would be much cooler!

For me, the guy in the background is the coolest. He's all like "What the.....????"

Tasteless, tacky and terrible. Likely they will not live too long. Good capture.

I love it! I once saw a guy on the subway in NYC, in a full suit made of royal blue satin, complete with a matching fedora with feather, and a walking stick. He thought he was IT! This image is priceless.

This image reminds me of the work of the great photojournalist Mary Ellen Mark http://www.digitaljournalist.org/issue9903/mark01.htm) -- she often confronts her subjects in this manner and in their responses, they reveal aspects of who they are. An excellent image, rich in revealing detail, gestures and context.
