This is the only perched Northern Boobook (recently split from Brown Hawk Owl) that we saw. We had an amazing experience with these birds over the ocean on our return trip form Socheong. In the course of an hour we had 57 of these birds migrating by day over the open ocean! The only other owl of the trip was Oriental Scops-Owl, which we heard a number of times.
