OK. This wasn't supposed to be today's photo, but then I discovered that my little fill-flash had exposed something I'd never seen before. Those funky little lizards that skitter around the forest floor sometimes have bright blue bellies. This one was also kind of silver-black on top. And, to boot, he was "flashing" his belly (I see in another picture) at the little brown lizard that was in the leaves.

Now ... springtime .. differently colored lizards, one "strutting his stuff"... I think I know what was going on ...
