Incredible - the colour at the centre does just pull you right in. Great perspective!

Fantastic colours

The lighting is my usual....two clip lights. All I do is vary the distance from the object. In this case the light to the left (flipped image shows brighter on the right) was directed at the object. The light on the right was directed away and bounced off of a wall. The black is from black poster board with tight cropping so you don't see my carpet or the foot of my tripod.
My "studio" is an ironing board or a weight bench with poster board on it and clip lights clipped to whatever I can find, or hand held.

I am blushing here:-)
Thank you, you are wonderful
But I am not there to write about my feelings about what you wrote but about what ! feel when I see this shot

That's it! I'm going out and buying some slinky's. I once saw a gold plated one but it was too expensive to be a prop.
jeanb 03-Mar-2004 19:17
Amazing lighting. How did you do this?
robin statfeld 03-Mar-2004 19:13
Awesome. However you did the lighting, you did an amazing job.

I totally love this shot! I love the colors, the circular patters, the black background, the tight crop; I love the whole thing! Very nicely done!

Wow, this is so creative. Yes, I'd love to have seen a photo of the setup (I've always wondered how people do this!), but the final image is so stunning, I don't care if I don't see it. Gotta dig that slinky of mine out for another shot I think!
Guest 03-Mar-2004 15:37
I love the gradient of color in the center, really enhances the image. Kinda reminds me of an old 60's time traveling show but in great vivid color.

I thought it was a slinky from the thumbnail but then I thought "nah, can't be." :)

What a great effect. Very inventive way to get it. Love the neon colors.

Woah Steven. This is excellent. I'm also a Slinky photographer but mine is metal not the glorious colourful plastic that you have. Great composition.

Regards,

Geoff.
