Intrepid POTD photographer at work!

When you wake up to blue, blue sky it always gladdens your heart, doesn't it? I don't know how many people see weather like today and want to be outside but I certainly do. Of course the dogs will never refuse a romp in the woods so off we went, cameras at the ready.

It's funny how the low sun changes the perspective on everything. When you look at a view from one angle it's in deep shade yet from another it's in glorious sunshine. I've spent a good deal of my time on this walk on my hands and knees photographing mushrooms. I don't know why but for some reason they're intriguing me at the moment. So beautiful, so fragile (more than once a dog has rushed past me and stomped on my subject), so interesting yet so scary too because I've absolutely no idea which are harmless and which are harmful!

I got back to my feet after a photo of a mushroom to see David ambling along the path, camera in hand though in fact he chose a different POTD today.

We walked for a couple of hours in the biting cold but it was great just to be able to blow away the woes of last week. It's difficult not to be infected by the sun and blue sky.

Tomorrow? All hell breaks loose again and I am a slave to my job again, but for this evening.....a real fire, a good, hearty meal and a few glasses of the red stuff!

Just cherish your weekends when you get to have them. :) My husband and I used to go for long drives on the weekends - him to unwind and me to take multiple photos with my Minolta. We still try and go out for an hour or two every weekend to take photos. The difference is I don't have to go to the one hour photo and spend $50 to get my film developed.

Sounds like a "picture perfect" day...sorry for that...couldn't help it.

Great shot, I also like the mushrooms, I've taken a few of those myself, but as you mntioned, they are a bit scary, and I hate all the bugs on them!

Enjoy your cozy evening by the fire!
