This image shows the large dark sunspot that appears in the upper left of the previous image. The large area of the sunspot is approximately the size of the planet Jupiter. The darkest area of the sunspot is known as the "umbra", while the lighter surrounding area is called the "penumbra." This shot was taken with a JMB Class A solar filter and a 2x Barlow.
