In cleaning my deceased father's home, I found a chalk drawing of a place near Plisen. It is signed E. Dlanky(it looks like). Also has Remember Plsin 23/V/1945 Cechy in one corner. The picture looks to be a lake with a small mountain in the middle. Could you give me any insight into this place?

Thank you,
Brenda

Hi Bob,

Since you were in Pilzen, I was wondering if you had ever seen this girl.
(go to youtube and type in Lost German Girl)
The film was taken around May 6th, 1945 in Pilzen by the Americans. She is quite unique looking for the time period, so maybe she sticks out in peoples minds a little greater than most.
She was listed in the Film notes as the "SS Girl" She was with a large group of Germans captured/surrendered/killed along side one of the country roads near the Beer factory. Any help woule be appreciated as to what might have happened to her.
Yiou can contact me at gtkovac@gmail.com

Thanks,
Gary

THANKS!!!!! i am a physics professor in the Philippines. started highschool in Holland in september 1939. am trying to convey to the students here what war means. difficult! my war experience consist of a couple of hours shooting around the house: "rear guard action". we were scared.... and it was nothing compared with a bombing raid on a city.
Your factual comments with the pics say all.

Enjoyed your website......I wrote a book about WWII... A friend of mine was one of The American Red Cross 'Donut Dollies'.....and was billeted at the Hotel Continental in Pilsen...which was partly destroyed during the war....Her mother saved all of her letters home and I used the letters as an outline for my book "Journey Between Mountains"...i also have a web site...
