This was the favorite palace of King Chulalongkorn (King Rama 5) when he stayed at Bang Pa-In.
Unfortunately, the original palace burned down. The building which replaced it was constructed
in 1996 at the expressed wish of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the present queen of Thailand.
