MKT 104

Denison, Texas

Missouri, Kansas & Texas Extra 361 North, the 104 train, departing Ray Yard. Power for the train was provided by GP39-2 locomotives #361, #365, #370 and #360, and GP40 #197.

This was one of my final photographs along the MKT system before it merged with the giant Union Pacific Railroad. I feel fortunate to have known the Katy in its final years. If you never had the pleasure of visiting the MKT, you missed meeting some of the friendiest railroad employees in the world. My thanks to all of them.
