Habitat: Moist woods, thickets, clearings, and lawns
Comments: Spring beauties are one of the first flowers to bloom in spring.
The flowers grow from an underground tuber like a potato, this tuber was
gathered by Native Americans and colonists as food and has a sweet Chestnut
like flavor. Spring beauties bloom in the months of March-May, this photo
was taken at Chain 'O Lakes state park in north cental Indiana
