At the time of their marriage my mother was told by her doctor that she would be unable to have children.
They had their lives which included my father serving in WWII and the Korean War. Afterwards they resumed their domestic lives together simultaneously running a grocery store, gas station, motel and taxi service. After a few more years mom unexpectedly became pregnant with me!
This photograph was made between the wars.
Although still young here you can see the toll that the war and years long separation had already taken.
