Ottawa West

One image, taken from the slide presentation I am preparing for a Senior's group. The slide presentation is entitled "FUN WITH WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY". I propose to post some more images and SERIES from it, even though I may have previously posted some of them a number of years ago without or without the captions.

The legelization of "POT" for recreational purposes in Canada is supposedly to stop illegal sales by the black market. WHAT A FARCE!! We can't even stop black-market sales of cigarettes. We force the legal sale of cigarettes to be done in stealth by forbidding their advertising and display, but we happily collect the taxes. Then we spend many many millions of dollars telling people not to smoke for health reasons and many many more millions for smoking-related illnesses. Coincidently,We are proposing to save the planet by legislating a carbon tax, yet, here we are spawning a whole new carbon-emitting industry that sucks up electrical energy like crazzy and uses huge amounts of fertilizer and water to both grow the "WEED" and for distribution; only to be happily blown up into smoke by the carbon emitting end user. None of this even takes into consideration health and safety related issues. What a sham!

Some enviromentalists are suggesting the banning of cattle and livestock because they "FART" too much, resulting in damage to the ozone layer. Where are these same people now w.r.t. the associated increase in carbon emissions by the hugely anticipated increase in the number of people smoking "pot" on legalization. The many millions of square feet of greenhouse spaces being constructed all over could be better used for growing food, but then, I suspect, there would be little monitary incentive by both governments and industry.

And, NO, I am not a smoker and I won't be smoking pot.
